While increasing accessibility to affordable housing through homeownership is our goal, partner families need to be aware of the responsibilities of homeownership. Homeowner education is an important part to long-term, successful home ownership.
Potential home buyers complete a series of workshops about home ownership in a classroom setting that includes budgeting, estate planning, yard maintenance, bankruptcy, and more. Plus, home buyers participate in our hands-on workshop stations to learn about basic household plumbing, fire and safety prevention, etc. Workshops are designed to help home owners avoid the expense of service calls for minor home repairs and maintenance.
