It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Jake Mathews, beloved Board President of Calhoun-Cleburne Habitat for Humanity.
Jake’s leadership, compassion, and unwavering commitment to serving others helped shape our organization and strengthen our mission of building safe, affordable housing for families in our community. He led with humility, generosity, and a genuine passion for helping people achieve the dream of homeownership.
Throughout his years of service, Jake dedicated countless hours to advancing Habitat’s work across Calhoun and Cleburne counties. His steady guidance, servant’s heart, and belief in the power of community left a lasting impact on our staff, volunteers, partner families, and everyone fortunate enough to know him.
While we mourn this tremendous loss, we also celebrate the legacy Jake leaves behind — one built through kindness, leadership, and lives changed for the better.
On behalf of our Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, and partner families, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Jake’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.
In honor of Jake’s memory and his dedication to our mission, memorial donations may be made to Calhoun-Cleburne Habitat for Humanity to continue the work he cared so deeply about.
Jake’s legacy will continue to live on in every home built, every family served, and every life touched through Habitat for Humanity.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
